What river brought life to Egypt? The Nile River
How wide was the furtile area (on average) from the Nile? A mile
The Nile flows from what to what? Upper Egypt to the Meddertianian Sea
Where did most people live in Egypt, why? In lower Egypt or by the Delta, because it was more furtile
Why is the Nile good? The Nile was a source of life, it was a source of defence, and it was a source of comenerence or transportaion
What is a Fayum? A fayum is a very shallow swampy lake
What was so special about the fayum? It preserved a lot of articfacts that the Egyptians threw away in the Nile
What did West and East sides of the Nile represent? The west was death, and the East was life
What was the Old Kingdom known for? There monuments
What are some famouse momuments from the Old Kingdom? The Pyramids of Giza and some Mastaba (looked a lot like zigarats)
What are the theories on who built the pyramids? At first it was the slaves, but people now believe they were volenteers because of how well the were treated
How long did it take to build a pyramid? 30-40 years
What was Middle Egypt known for? the were known for getting destroyed by the Ocean Peoples.
Why did Egypt not like the Hebrews? They had xenphobia, or when there're afraid of foreners so when they grew to big they grew scared of them
What was the New Kingdom known for? They were known for there People
Who are some famouse people from the New Kingdom? Hashept-A women who was bascically pharoah Amenhotep-tried to make the nation henotheism by worshiping only the sun god Tutankhamun-wasn't very rich ruled younge and died younge doin't known if he was murded though Ramessesll- known for him military
What did Egyptians religon revolve around? Death, phycial and spiritual
What did the body do when it died The soul would then be taken to the after-life
Kahopic Jar The jars that would store the pharaohs organs
Why would the kill a lot of slaves? So the would aid the Pharaoh in his after-life
Mummie When you preserve a body through mummification
What did the economy of Egypt revole around The death indistrey
Heiroglyphics sacrid writting, or the Egyptians language
Can people read Heiroglyphics? Yes, but at first no because it was a dead langeage
How did Heiroglyphics becaome readable? Through the Rosetta Stone, which had heiroglyphics, greek, and demotic on it
