Who fought in the Trojan War? Mycenaeans attacked the people of Troy in Anatolia.
What people migrated into mainland Greece after the destruction of the Mycenaean civilization. The Dorian people.
Who was "Homer" and why was he important? Homer was a greek poet who wrote and told stories during and after the Trojan War.
What happened shortly after the Trojan War regarding the mycenaeans? The Mycenaean civilization fell apart. Sea raiders burned down and attacked multiple mycenaean city states.
How did the Greek language come to be? Mycenaeans took the idea of the Minoans writing system and adapted it into modern day Greek language.

What makes an Oligarchy? Multiple people share power; There is no direct leader
What was the lawmaking group called in a democracy? The lawmakers were called an assembly.
What are the main forms of government in Ancient Greece? The main forms of government were Oligarchy, Monarchy, Tyranny, and Democracy.
What are the characteristics of a democracy ? All people in the civilization that is run by a democracy are able to vote on ideas; Every person has a voice and a say.
What is another term for Tyranny? Another word for tyranny is dictatorship.

What is one of the biggest differences between Athens and Sparta? Sparta was mostly based around war and preparing for war while Athens is mostly based around art, architecture, and culture
What age did people in Athens begin their military training? The Athenian military train started at 18 years old.
What was it like being a woman in Sparta? Women in Sparta had more rights than women in Athens. While the men went away for war in Sparta, women took control of the businesses and jobs.
What small group made important government decisions in Sparta? The group was "The Council of Elders."
What was Athens economy based around? The Athenian economy was based around trade.

Who was Pericles? Why was he important? Pericles was an Athenian leader who developed Athens' culture, government, and economy during their Golden Age
What is one of the most famous and spectacular temples built in ancient Greece and when was it built? The temple was built during Athens golden age, and it is called the Parthenon.
Who was Socrates? Socrates was an extremely influential philosopher in ancient greece.
How did women perform in Greek dramas? Women and men both wore masks because women were supposed to be quiet and stay home.
What was one of the great achievements of Greek sculptors? Being able to create lifelike/ realism sculptures.

Which scientist believed that numbers were the key to understanding nature? The scientist was Pythagoras
What did the Greek historian Herodotus create? Herodotus created the first map of the known world in about 450 B.C.E.
What is one thing we still use from ancient Greece? Possible Answers: Biology, Mathematics, Architecture.
Who is often referred to as one of the greatest scientists of the ancient world? The scientist is Hipparchus
What did the greeks interest in athletics give them? It gave them insight on how the human body moves and functions
