canon A deep, narrow valley with steep sides and often has a stream overflowing through it.
cataract A large, powerful waterfall.
delta A triangular area of land formed from deposits at the mouth of a river.
desert An extremely dry area with little water and few plants.
fjord A long, narrow deep inlet of sea between steep cliffs or hills.
island A body of land completely surrounded by water on all sides.
mountain range A natural elevation of the Erath's surface with steep sides higher than hills.
oasis A spot of fertile land in a desert, supplied with water by a well or spring.
peninsula A body of land surrounded by water on only three sides.
plain A large area of flat land with few trees.
plateau A broad, flat area of land higher than the surrounding land.
rainforest A tropical forest that receives a lot of rain and has very tall trees.
river valley A valley formed by flowing water or river which is usually V-shaped.
steppe A large area of flat, unforested (treeless) grassland.
volcano An opening in the surface of the Earth through which lava, gasses, and ash are forced out or escape.
