Effete | (adjective) exhausted of vitality or strength; worn out; spent |
Fait accompli | (noun) something already done and beyond alteration |
Hidebound | (adjective) restricted by petty rules, a conservative attitude, etc. |
Hierarchy | (noun) a system of persons or things arranged in a graded order |
Liturgy | (noun) the forms of public services (ceremonies) officially prescribed by a Church |
Mirage | (noun) something illusory |
Morass | (noun) a disordered or muddled situation or circumstance, esp. one that impedes progress |
