What is the definition of technology? A manmade object, process or system created to solve a problem or meet a need
What is the definition of a process? Any series of steps that must be performed in order to accomplish a task
What is the definition of a system? Any object made of different parts or elements that work together to serve a purpose
What is the definition of an engineer? Someone who uses their knowledge of math, science or creativity to design technology
What is the difference between a system and a process? A process is not tangible, meaning it's not something you can touch. It is the steps that need to be done in order to accomplish a task. A system is a tangible object, meaning you can touch it. It is the different parts of an object that work together.
What does a bioengineer do? Bioengineers use nature and living things as inspiration, along with knowledge of math and science, to create technology to help humans.
How are engineers and bioengineers similar? They both use math and science to create technology to solve problems.
How are engineers and bioengineers different? Bioengineers use nature and living things as inspirations for their technologies, while engineers mostly focus on math and science only to create technologies.
What is the definition of a membrane? A thin structure that surrounds something and lets some things in such as water or air, while keeping some things out, such as bacteria
What is the definition of anti-microbial? Stops viruses or bacteria from growing
What is the purpose of the engineering design process? Engineers use the engineering design process to create technologies and solve problems.
What are the 5 steps of the engineering design process? Ask, Imagine, Plan, Create, and Improve
