RLA STAAR vocabulary Expository

Summary | the retelling of the main ideas in a text |

Infer | to conclude from evidence presented in the text and what you already know about the text |
Textual Evidence | clues presented throughout a text to answer questions |
Facts | a detail that can be proven to be correct or incorrect |
Opinions | one person or group's idea or feeling |
Verify | to check for correctness |
Support | to back up |
Text Organizational Patterns | the various ways authors organize expository text (cause/effect, compare/contrast, sequential order, classify, or problem/solution) |
