Observatories | A building for observing the moon, and other objects in the sky |
Basin | A bowl shaped area that had some of the best farmland in the highlands of Mexico because of its volcanic soil. |
Chinampa | Artificial islands that created more land for farming. |
Dike | A wall that holds back water, like a dam.The Aztecs built this one to hold back the salt water from the fresh water in Lake Texcoco. |
Rigid | Unchanging, fixed. |
Aqueducts | Canals or pipes that carry fresh water from the surrounding hills. |
