| Common indications | Urinary tract infections, otitis media, ulcerative colitis, lower respiratory infections |
| Adverse reactions | Photosensitivity resulting in rashes or sunburns, nausea and vomiting, jaundice, blood complications, kidney damage |
| Special considerations | Avoiding direct sunlight or use sunscreens when expose. Drink plenty of water to prevent crystallization in the urine. Trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole infusions need to be stored at room temperature. |
