What are some Principles for Acting Human? Everyone doesn’t have to like us / it’s okay to make mistakes / you don’t have to control everything / it is important to try
Do some of the values promoted in our society really contribute to the well-being of all people? Yes, the people who respect others, volunteer to help others, and do their best to better the world contribute to the well-being of all people.
Are there some values in our society that rob people of their well-being? Yes, the idea and thought that one must do everything in their power to have these material goods can cause others to steal which will in turn rob others of their well-being.
Are there some values in our society that rob people of their power, their freedom, or their human dignity? Yes, the idea that people who flaunt their material goods and show off their wealth have more power and are more important rob those who have less of their human dignity.
What are some examples of current ethical issues in our culture, society, or world. abortion / premarital sex / selling or taking drugs / lying
What does it mean that humans are “stewards” of the earth? It means that people are supposed to take care of and watch over the land that the Lord has given us; we are not meant to rule and control it.
Explain the statement “We are made from love, for love, and to love.” This statement means that we, as children of God, are supposed to always love and forgive others and never hate and hold a grudge over people.
Explain the statement “We are spiritual beings having a human experience.” Since God is a spiritual being and he created us as humans, we are spiritual beings having a human experience.
Why is it correct to say that our dignity always remains with us? Dignity is our value, worth, and respect; if we believe and do all these things to others and ourselves, our dignity can never be taken from us.
Why does every person deserve respect? Everyone is a child of God and should be treated as such, this means that we should respect them and show them the dignity they deserve.
