Mental\Emotional Health The ability to accept yourself and others adapt to and cope with our emotions, and deal with the problems and challenges you meet in your life
Personality The unique combination of feelings, thoughts, and behaviors that make you different from everyone else
Anxiety Disorder A condition in which intense anxiety or fear keeps a person from functioning normally
Personality Disorder A variety of psychological conditions that affect a persons ability to get along with others
Schizophrenia A severe mental disorder in which people lose contact with reality
Mood Disorder A disorder in which a person undergoes changes in mood that seems inapropriate or extreme
Clinical Depression A mood disorder in which people lose interest in life and can no longer find enjoyment in anything
Suicide Intentionally killing oneself
Phobia Intense and exagerated fear of a specific situation or object
Grief The sorrow caused by the loss of a loved one
Body Image The way you see yourself
Appropriate Weight The weight that is best for your body
Body Mass Index (BMI) A measurement that allows you to asses your body size taking your height and weight into account
Overweight More than the appropriate weight for gender, height, age, body frame, and growth pattern
Underweight Less than the appropriate weight for your gender, height, age, body frame, and growth pattern
Eating Disorders Extreme and damaging eating behaviors that can lead to sickness and even death
Anorexia Nervosa An eating disorder characterized by self starvation leading to extreme weight loss
Malnutrition Condition in which the body doesnt get the nutrients it needs to grow and funcdtion properly
Balimia Condition in which a person eats large amounts of food and then tries to purge
Binge Eating Disorder Compulsive eating
Self-concept The view you have of yourself
Self-esteem the way you feel about yourself and how you value yourself
Emotions Your feelings created in response to thought, remarks and events.
Empathy The ability to understand and share another persons feelings
Anxiety An overwhelming feeling of dread much like fear
Panic The feeling of sudden intense fear
Resilience The ability to adapt to and recover from dissapointment
Emotional needs Needs that affect your feeling and sense of well-being
