The Years Between Wars

Fascism system of government characterized by strict social and economic control and a strong, centralized government usually headed by a dictator
Totalitarianism modern government with control over every aspect of public and private life

Benito Mussolini ruler of Italy whose goal was to create a colonial empire, and agreed to ally with Germany and become one of the Axis Powers during WWII
Hideki Tojo Japanese politician and general of the Imperial Japanese Army who served as Prime Minister of Japan and President of the Imperial Rule Assistance Association for most of World War II
Hirohito emperor of Japan who ruled during a time of economic crisis for Japan as well as throughout WWII
