There are 3 levels to the energy pyramid. What are the levels from bottom(greatest), middle, top (least) Consevation, efficiency, renewable
What does energy conservation mean? It is a change in a person's habits. It does not cost you money But it does make you change your lifestyle. Turning off lights.
What does energy efficiency mean? Using technology that requires less energy. You must change something. It may cost you upfront but will save you money in the long run. It also uses less energy. Using an LED or CFL light.
renewable energy made from resources that nature can replace such as wind and sun. It is clean energy but can not be stored
nonrenewable energy come from sources that can run out or will not be replenished in our lifetime. (fossil fuels)
Vampire Devices are... examples... Electronics that use electricity even if the power switch is off. Examples: computers, phone chargers, DVD player, printers, game consoles, night lights, VCR,
Renewable resources examples wind turbines ( works opposite of a fan and pulls air in, solar panels ( powered by sun), hydropower (powered by force of water) , biomass (methane made by decomposing trash or poo), geothermal (pipes underground carries water and heats it or cools it),
nonrenewable examples coal, natural gas, nuclear.
Efficiency examples Buying led lights, getting a home audit, buying new energy star appliances, installing a new furnace,
Conservation examples recycling, turning water temperature, opening shades in winter, taking shorter showers, using power strips, vents uncovered, turning off lights, powering off computer at night.
