What did a monastery do? They gave up their possessions to devote themselves to a life of prayer and worship.
What leader used church revenues to raise armies, repair roads, and help the poor? Gregory I who became a pope in 590 A.D. did this for his people.
What era was the gradual decline of the Roman Empire? The Roman Empire declined in the Middle ages also called the Medieval Times.

Who are the Vikings? The Vikings were Germanic people. They worshiped warlike Gods.
What city in Italy got raided by Muslims? In 800 to 1000 the Muslims invaded Sicily
What is a Serf? A serf is a medieval peasant legally bound to live on a lord’s estate.
What is the manor system? The manor system is a system that set of rights and obligations between a lord and his serfs.
About how many families lived on a manor? About 15 to 30 families lived on a manor.

How many days in a year did a lord request combat from his knights? He requested about 40 days of combat from them.
What is a chivalry? A chivalry is a code of behavior for knights in medieval Europe, stressing ideals such as courage, loyalty, and devotion.
What is the process of training to become a knight? Their is constant training and which starts at the age of 7.
Who were troubadours? A troubadour is a medieval poet and musician who traveled from place to place, entertaining people with songs of courtly love
Where were women recognized around the 900 ADs? The church recognized them and attempted to give them a word as much as they could.
