Geo Politics

Ethnic Separatism When an ethnic groups desires to separate from the larger group
Ethnic cleansing Process in which more powerful ethnic group forcibly removes/kills a less powerful one in order to create an ethnically homogeneous region

Independence movement Effort by people to create a new sovereign state in a place inside or another state (Devolution failed) Think Spain, Catalonia
Autonomous region Regions that have a HIGH degree of self-government and freedom to govern themselves (example Native American Reservations)
Semi-autonomous Region Have a MODERATE degree of self-government and freedom to govern themselves (Example Hong Kong and Macau)
