Chapter 4: Think Win-Win

TermDefinition
Win-Lose mentality High courage, low consideration, always trying to beat others, thinking in terms of "me vs. them." Believing others have to lose for you to win.
Win-Win mentality Wanting to lift yourself and others up, helping both yourself and others.
Lose-Win mentality Low courage, high consideration, prone to being taken advantage of, victim mentality. Others always win and you always lose.
Lose-Lose mentality If you can't win, no one can. Tearing others and yourself down.
Emotional Bank Account (EBA) "depositing" Acts of kindness, keep promises, keep confidences, don't gossip, set clear expectations, apologize, forgive
Emotional Bank Account (EBA) "withdrawing" Breaking trust, being malicious or mean, gossiping about others, refusing to apologize or forgive
Consideration Your consideration of others' situations and feelings, low consideration associated with Win-Lose and Lose-Lose mentality, high associated with Lose-Win and Win-Win.
Courage High courage associated with Win-Win and Win-Lose, low courage associated with Lose-Lose and Lose-Win.
