Module 12: Make Deposits in others People's Emotional Bank Accounts(EBAs) Main Point I can make deposits of kindness and helpfulness into other people's emotional bank accounts. When I do this, its easier to make new friends and build strong relationships.
Find out what a deposit is for the other person -What you think to be a deposit may in fact be a withdrawal. -You won't know until you find out.
Do small acts of kindness -Treat people with kindness. -Take the initiative, be kind to others and create connections while making deposits.
Keep Promises -Breaking serious promises bankrupts EBAs. -Breaking promises means breaking trust with that person
Keep Confidences -When someone shares something with you in confidence, keep it that way. -It's not your business to tell.
Be loyal to the Absent -Avoid gossiping and backstabbing. Stick up for others when they're not around.
Set Clear Expectations -Don't leave things fuzzy. -Follow through with what's expected.
Apologize -If you're in the wrong, admit it. -Making excused instead of making things better turn into a bigger withdrawal.
Forgive -Learn to forgive and forget so you don't keep hurting yourself the way you were. -Don't let yesterday hold your tomorrow hostage.
