Habit 4

Think Win-Win!!

Question / TermAnswer / Explanation
What is the main idea of Module 11? I can build effective relationships with people by working for their benefit as well as my own.
What is a Win-Lose mindset? Being high on courage, low on consideration, always wanting to win no matter what.
What is a Lose-Win mindset? Being low on courage, high on consideration, not brave enough to stick up for yourself. Looking for sympathy and attention.
What is a Lose-Lose mindset? Thinking that If you can't win, nobody wins.. Revenge, envy, criticism, and putting other people down all fall under this mindset.
What is a Win-Win mindset? Being ready to walk away before someone loses, even yourself. Balancing courage and consideration so that all parties win!
What are the two principles that people who think with a "win-win or no deal" mindset live by? Courage and Consideration.
What are the traits of someone who lives in a Lose-Win mindset? Eager to please, reluctant to stand up for themselves; therefore, they become a doormat and walked over.
What are the traits of someone who lives in a Lose-Lose mindset? They don't care if other people lose, nor do they have the courage to stand up for themselves.
What are the traits of someone who lives in a Win-Lose mindset? They go for the win-lose every single time, they're bold but cold, meaning they are unsympathetic, inconsiderate, and unkind. They want to be #1, no matter what it takes to get there.
What are the traits of someone who lives in a Win-Win mindset? They aren't ready to let anyone lose, not even themselves. They have proactive patience, and they don't give up.
What is the main idea of Module 12? I can make deposits of kindness and helpfulness into other people's Emotional Bank Accounts. When I do this, it's easier to make new friends and build strong relationships.
What's it called when you do something that helps the relationship? A deposit into the Emotional Bank Account.
What is it called when you do something that hurts the relationship? A withdrawal from the Emotional Bank Account.
How do I find out what a deposit is for another person? What YOU think is a deposit for someone, may in fact be a withdrawal in their head. The only way of knowing is to find out.
How do I do small acts of kindness? Treating people with kindness, this can be done by just smiling to someone in the hallway as you pass by, the little things count!
How do I keep promises, what does it do? By breaking a promise, you take a massive EBA withdrawal. By keeping promises, you continue depositing into someone's EBA, as breaking a serious promise can drain even a large EBA by an abhorrent amount.
How do I keep confidences? When someone shares something with you, keep it that way, don't spread something that someone told you in secret. By avoiding the spread of information, photos, and texts, you avoid humiliating someone and/or getting yourself in serious trouble.
How do I be loyal to the absent? Avoid gossip and backbiting!! No talking about someone behind their back, especially that of negative context. Stick up to someone who is ill-mouthing someone behind their back!
How do I set clear expectations? Don't leave things vague, be specific, and follow through what you promise, keep your word.
What does apologizing do for an EBA? By admitting you're in the wrong, you avoid making excuses, which take large withdrawals from someone's EBA.
How do I forgive? Is it a good thing? Forgiving and forgetting is a fantastic thing. By learning to do so, one doesn't continue hurting themselves the say way you were hurt.
