TermDefinition
MLA MLA, which stands for Modern Language Association, is defined as a style of writing used for college-level writing.
CITATION A quotation from or reference to a book, paper, or author, especially in a scholarly work.
FOOTNOTE A string of text at the bottom of a page that provides an author's comments on the main text or citations of a reference work in support of the text.
END NOTE A source citation that refers the readers to a specific place at the end of the paper where they can find out the source of the information or words quoted or mentioned in the paper.
INTERNAL CITATION The brief form of the reference that gives information to uniquely identify the source in your reference list.
BIBLIOGRPAHY A list of the books referred to in a scholarly work, typically printed as an appendix.
DICTION The choice and use of words and phrases in speech or writing.
TRANSITIONS The words or phrases that indicate a new thought, paragraph, or section is coming, keeping writing clear and organized.
SYNTAX The arrangement of words and phrases to create well-formed sentences in a language.
