Beginning Zen Shiatsu

QuestionAnswer
Define Ki/Qi/Chi The energy associated with any movement or transformation in the whole of existence. In the body it warms, activates, transports and protects.
Define Meridian Routes through which ki flows, forming a network connecting the Ki associated with all the major functions of the body.
Define Tsubo Any point along the surface pathway of a meridian where the Ki can be directly influenced by pressure or needle insertion.
Define Hara The abdomen. The center of the body. Center of gravity, center of intuition, powerhouse and source of all the body’s energy.
What is Shiatsu Literally “finger pressure”. Shiatsu is a Japanese style of bodywork that uses pressure on the body to elicit healthy changes. Practitioners work with clients’ input to determine the exact healthy change appropriate to each individual.
