amygdala | part of brain that store emotionally charged unconscious memories |
scripts | term created by Eric Berne that refers to our unconscious internal forces |
factors that shape our life scripts | how others responded to us, what significant adults said to us, our attributions, our role models |
attributions | qualities of how we should be or we are like helpful, devoted, rebellious, dominant, etc... |
injunctions | qualities that we are not or should not be such as don't talk back, don't say no, don't get angry, etc... |
self-defeating habits | any behavior that sabotages your dreams or goals |
two parts of scripts are | patterns of (thoughts, feelings, and behaviors) and core beliefs |
core belief | an unconscious judgment that dictate what we consistently think, feel, or do |
right side of brain | more creative |
left side of brain | more logical |
to create your personal brand | show how you are unique and valuable |
feedback | information that is given to a person so that they can improve their performance |
blind spot | a lack of self-awareness of a problem or bad habit; behaviors that are invisible to us but seen by others that cause us to make mistakes |
to perform well on an interview | research the company, prepare, and end strong |
outdated script or a limiting script | what people have said to us when we were young that affect us now in our unconscious mind |
three success rules | I show up, I do my best work, I participate actively |
sugary drinks are associated with | poorer episodic memory |
drinking water can lead to | weight loss |
dehydration | not drinking enough water which can lead to headaches and lower the ability to concentrate |
soda | research has found that it affects the hippocampus in the brain which plays a key role in storing information in memory |
self-sabotage | making choices that work against your goals and dreams |
self-awareness | conscious knowledge of one's own character, feelings, motives, and desires. |
multiple intelligence | the different ways a person learns information theory was developed by Gardner |
