Ch.5 Study stack

PLanets To Wander to rotate in a circular motion.
Perihelion When a planet is closest to the sun.
Aphelion When the planet is farthest from the sun.
Albedo Reflective ablility indicated by the planets albedo.
Mass Is a measure of the amount of matter the planet contains.
Weight Mass is relative to weight but is not the same thing. For example, an object in interstellar space is weightless, but it still has mass.
Surface Gravity The Downward pull the planet exerts on objects at its surface.
Retrograde motion As the earth passes superior planet, the surperior planet appears to move backward compared to the background stars. This is called retrograde motion.
