Crime Awareness

Uniform Crime Reporting System (UCRS) collect crime statistics, state agencies report data on crimes to UCRS. UCRS data become the leading social indicators
Part I crimes (only crimes reported by the UCR) Murder, robbery, rape, aggravated assault, burglary, vehicle theft, theft, arson(burning property)
Utah's Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI) submits the crime statistics from all of the state's reporting agencies to the FBI
Crime rate (produced by the UCR crime statistics) use to find out if a crime is rising or falling compare to population change.
A crime is usually cleared by an arrest, suspect may have fled the jurisdiction where the crime occurred, suspect may have died or may be unable to stand trial, suspect may be charged for some of the crimes out of the numerous he committed
National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS) (modified UCR system) tracks information on 46 offenses. efficiently gather information and intelligence
