Kidney Stones | renal stones formed by the union of various substances, especially calcium phosphate, calcium oxalate, uric acid, and (rarely) cystine, followed by progressive enlargement |
Urinary Tract Infection | (UTI) a general term for infection of one or more structures of the urinary system; cystitis in bladder, urethritis in urethra, pyelonephritis in the upper urinary tract |
Bladder cancer | One of several types of carcinoma beginning in the lining of the bladder, most common is transitional cell carcinoma |
Polycystic kidney disease | (PKD, Renal Cystic Disease) Hereditary disorder, infant or adult onset, causing cysts in kidney: fluid-filled cavities with degeneration of normal renal tissue |
Renal cell carcinoma | the most common form of renal cancer. tends to have silent symptoms until it is advanced. |
Pyelonephritis | an infection of the nephrons in the kidney, although the renal pelvis may also be involved |
transitional cell carcinoma | cancer that arises in the renal pelvis; accounts for about 90% of all bladder caners in the US |
squamous cell carcinoma | accounts for about 5% of bladder cancers in the US, but in develop- ing countries, it is the most common type of bladder cancer. It can be caused by infection with Schistosoma, a parasitic worm |
painful bladder syndrome | a chronic pain condition that centers on bladder and urethra sensation |
Renal failure | he kidneys are not functioning adequately. If the kidney's slow down suddenly it is acute failure, if it is from cumulative damage it is chronic failure |
