Who unified the two kingdoms? Narmer.He had a double crown that was white and reaf to symbolize their unity.
WHo made up the largest class? Farmers.
What are deities? Gods.
Who was Hapi? The goddess of the Nile.
Who was Isis? The goddess of all women, and Osiris's wife.
Why did the Egyptians call their land Kemet? Because when the rain came from Africa and snows melted the Nile's water ran over the banks. When the water went down, it left a rich black soil.
Why were the Nile floods good? They were more dependable and gentle and they never had to worry about it being to harsh or too little. And their flooding left them with nice fertile soil.
What are three things Egyptians grew? Flax, wheat, and barley.
What was the Egyptian method for transportation. They dug basins in the ground to trap floodwaters, then they dug canals that carried the water to fields beyond the river's reach.
Why did they survey the land? Because when floods came they washed away markers and they couldn't tell where one person's land began or ended.
Wha did they make before paper? Baskets, riverrafts, and sandals
What were scribes? Scribes were people who could read and write and carved hieroglyphics on stone walls and monuments.
What dud the Egyptian goverments do? Built irigation systems, settled argruments over land.
How did it go from small villages to large kingdoms? The chiefs joined together and the strongest one took over.
Who unified to two kingdoms? Narmer, he wore a double crown that was red and white to symbolize them coming together.

How did the desert prtect their land? They kept invaders from their territory.
How did cataracts protect them? They blocked enemy boats.
How did delta marshes protect them? They offered no harbors.

What rights did slaves have? They could own land, marry, and eventually come free.
Why did Akhenaton move the capital? To get away from the preists that didn't believe he was a god and to maintain his power?

What are the three groups that conquered egypt? Libyans, Kush, Assyrians
Where was Nubia? south of Egypt.

What was Kerma? A kingdom made up of strong Kushite villages.
Who invaded Kush? Thutmose III
What was the Kushites main city? Napata.
When and who began a conquest of Egypt? In about 750 B.C Kashta began a conquest of Egypt and his son Piye completed it.
The Kush people did what like the Egyptians? Built Pyramids.
The Kushites were defeated by who? The Assyrians.
What did the assyrians teach the Kushites? How to use iron.
Where did the Kushites invade people from? India, Arabia, and China.
What did the Kush people bring back from Arabia, India, and China. Cotton, textiles, and other goods.
Where did the Kushites move their capital to and why? To meroe to escape from the Assyrians.
Who destroyed the Kush civilzation for good? Axum.
