What was the ziggurat's purpose? Who could enter it? The ziggurats were believed to be the homes of the citys' chief god, which only priests could enter
What surrounded the ziggurats? What was their purpose? Courts surrounded the ziggurats. This is where artisans worked, children went to school, and goods were stored.
What did the Sumerians view the forces of nature as? The Sumerians viewed the forces of nature as gods.
According to the Sumerian beliefs, why do humans exist, and what is their purpose? The male gods made humans to be their servants to help impress the goddesses. Humans were made to please the gods.
What made the priests very powerful? Priests knew the will of the gods.
