Think Win-Win

QuestionAnswer
What is Win-Lose? When you win but the other person loses. You are only focused on your benefit and not theirs.
What is Lose-Win? When you lose but the other person wins. You get taken advantage of for their benefit.
What is Lose-Lose? Both people lose in the relationship. Relationships in a circular pattern of retaliation are lose-lose.
What is Win-Win? When both people get positive results from the interaction. Optimal solution for relationships.
What is courage? How much you are willing to stand up for you own interests.
What is consideration? How much attention you pay towards the others person's goals.
What is the ideal balance of courage and consideration? High courage and high consideration. That leads to the most win-win outcomes.
What is an EBA? Emotional bank account. Positives are deposits, negatives are withdrawals.
What are some ways to deposit into an EBA? Keeping promises, keeping confidences, and setting clear expectations are good ways to deposit into an EBA.
What are some ways to withdrawal from an EBA? Refusing to apologize, not being kind to the absent, and being unforgiving are ways to hurt an EBA.
