mental processes the internal, subjective experiences felt due to behavior
empiricism knowledge obtained through senses (e.g. experiment, evaluation, etc)
structuralism the structure of consciousness, the immediate experience arising from senses
functionalism how individuals learn, memorize, ad complete other mental processes
psychoanalysis theory of how personality, mental disorders, and unconscious thought process differs between individuals
behaviorism how individuals behave comparatively (e.g. what is normal? how do people act that is considered normal/weird?)

biological approach the assumption that behavior and mental process is formed from biological reasons (e.g. heredity)
evolutionary approach the assumption behavior and mental processes are formed due to the evolutionary process of natural selection (similar to biological approach)
psychodynamic approach the assumption that behavior and mental process reflect the constant (and mostly unconscious) psychological fighting ragging within each person of biological and humanistic thoughts
cognitive approach the assumption that behavior and mental process is based off of how people take in information, how the store it, and how they use it
behavioral approach the assumption that behavior is a result from what people learn
humanistic approach the assumption that behavior and mental process is shaped by how a person perceives the world
