Act | a major division in the action of a play. Each act consists of several scenes or entrances, usually signifying a further level of development of the plot |
Aside | words spoken to the audience by a character in a drama that are not supposed to be heard by the other characters on stage; it is used to let the audience know what a character is thinking. |
Character | A figure who undertakes the action of the plot. Effective characters arouse the audiences interest in them as people with whom they can identify. In addition, effective characters are those which the audience can care about or sympathize with. |
