QuestionAnswer
what is process? a broad designation for a bump on a bone (mastoid process, xiphoid process)
what is spine? an abrupt or pointed projection ( the spine of the scapula, the anterior superior iliac spine)
what is Trochanter? A blunt process ( > and < trochanter of the femur)
what is Tubercle? A small bump (the > and < tubercles of the humerus)
What is Tuberosity? A large often rough bump ( ischial tuberosity)
what is Line? A ridge that doesnt stick up very far ( the linea aspera of the femur)
what is crest? a prominent ridge (illiac crest)
what is Head? a lg rounded end of a bone, usually not set off by a neck, ( the head of the humers and the head of the femur)
what is the condyle? the rounded end of a long bone, usually not set of by a neck, usually small then a head ( the medial and lateral condyles of the femur)
what is the Epicondyle? a bump above the condyle (the medial and lateral condyle of the femur)
what is Facet? a smooth, mostly flat surface on a bone ( the facets of the vertebrae)
what is Fossa? a basin-like depression in a bone ( suprasoinous Fossa)
what is Foramen? a hole in a bone (foramen magnum on skull, foramina on sacrum)
what is Notch? a deep indentation in a bone.
what is Angle A diverging of two bony edges from common point ( superior and inferior angles of the scapula)
