Who was the President of the United States during World War II? Franklin D Roosevelt (FDR)

What did Hitler want for Germany? Hitler wanted Germany to build a powerful military and become a strong nation.
What group did Hitler blame for Germany’s problems? The Jewish people
What agreement did Hitler make with Stalin and why did Hitler want to make this agreement? Hitler and Stalin agreed not to attack each other. Hitler wanted to make this agreement so he could focus his attention on attacking and taking over other European countries.
What two countries were the first to form the Allied Powers? Great Britain and France
What did the Allies try to do to avoid going to war? The Allies tried to make agreements with Hitler to avoid conflict. They asked Hitler to agree to quit attacking other countries in Europe.
What did Hitler do to Austria and Czechoslovakia? Hitler invaded and took over Austria and Czechoslovakia and annexed (added) them to Germany.
What promises did Hitler and the Allies make to each other? Hitler agreed to stop attacking other countries and the Allies agreed to let Hitler keep the lands he had already taken over.
What did Hitler do on September 1, 1939? On September 1, 1939, Hitler invaded Poland. As a result of this the Allies (Great Britain and France) declared war on Germany.
How had Europe changed by the end of 1941? By the end of 1941 Hitler (Germany) controlled almost all of Europe.
Why did many Americans support isolationism? Because America was just coming off of World War I and they did not want to fight any more.
How did President Franklin Roosevelt feel about Britain before the U.S. entered World War II? Franklin Roosevelt wanted to help the British before the U S entered World War II. He did this by supplying them with military supplies such as planes, ships, tanks, and even pilots.
What action was Japan taking at the beginning of World War II? At the beginning of World War II Japan had invaded China and was taking over other countries in Asia.
Why did Japan want to conquer other Asian countries? To get valuable resources such as tin, rubber, and oil.
What happened on the morning of December 7, 1941? On the morning of December 7, 1941, the Japanese attacked the U S Naval Base in Pearl Harbor. As a result of this the US declared war on Japan.
What happened three days after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor? Italy and Germany declared war on the United States
Why did Italy and Germany declare war on the United States? Because they were in an alliance with Japan and when the US declared war on Japan they wanted to help Japan
Why did Japan attack Pearl Harbor? Because Japan believed that the only threat to their success was the US Navy so they wanted to take out all of the Navy ships that were at Pearl Harbor.
Where in Pearl Harbor? Hawaii
