What is a Dialect? A regional variation of a language distinguish by vocabulary, spelling, and pronunciation
What is Creolized language? A langeguage that results from mixing of colonizers languages with the indigenous language.
What is Ebonics? A dialect that has been term as a conbination of ebony and phonics
What is a Extinct Language? A language that is no longer spoken any more around the world
What is Franglais? A term used by French for English words that have entered the French language
What is Ideograms? Represents ideas or concepts that are not specific pronunciations
Define Isogloss? Word-usage boundary that can b constructed for each word
What is a Isolated language? A language unrelated to any other and therefore not attached to any language family
Define Language? A system of communication through speech and a collection of sounds that a group of people understand to have a same meaning
What is a Language branch? A collection of languages related through a common ancestor that existed several thousand years ago
What is a Language family? A collection of languages related through a common ancestor that existed long before recorded history
Define a Language group a collection of languages within a branch that share a common origin
What is Lingua Franca? Lingua franca is a common trade language such as english. Lingua Franca=trade
What is a Liteary language? it is a linguage that cam be written as well as spoken
What is a official language? It is the main language spoken by the government
What is a pidgin language It is a simpler form of a language
Define spanglish It is a mix of spanish and english
what is Vulgar latin vulgar latin is a spoken form of latin not the literay form
