energy resources vocabulary

QuestionAnswer
Biomass A type of renewable energy created from organic materials. Can be used in cars.
Natural Gas A type of nonrenewable energy formed from dead fish and animals. It is cheap, easy to find and burns clean, but WILL run out and can destroy enviornments
Coal A type of nonrenewable energy formed from millions of years old dead plants. It's cheap and easy to find, but pollutes and will run out
Oil A type of nonrenewable energy formed from millions of years old dead plants and animals. It is used to power our cars and is cheap, but will run out and causes lots of pollution.
Hydropower A type of renewable energy that is created from moving water. It never runs out, but only works if you are near moving water and can hurt the surrounding environment.
Solar Power A type of renewable energy that is created by using the suns rays. It is the most abundant resource and will never run out, but solar panels are expensive and it only works if you live somewhere that is sunny regularly.
Wind power A type of renewable energy that is created by using the blowing wind. Wind is free and will never run out, but Wind turbines are expensive to build and it only works in places that are always windy.
Nuclear Power A type of nonrenewable energy that is created by splitting atoms. It makes tons of energy to use, but is expensive and very dangerous if exposed to radioactive waste
Geothermal energy A type of renewable energy that is created from the heat within the earth. The heat in the earth is always available, but it is expensive to build and the magma used used is only found in certain areas of the earth

nonrenewable energy energy that will one day run out and be gone forever
Advantage Something good or that makes things better
Disadvantage Something bad or that makes things worse
