EUKARYOTIC A cell that contains a nucleus and other organelles
CELL The basic unit of structure and function in all living things
PHOTOSYNTHESIS The process by which producers capture and use the sun’s energy to make food for themselves
MITOCHONDRIA A cell structure that produces most of the energy needed to carry out the cell’s functions
MEIOSIS The process that produces four sex cells, each containing half of the usual number of chromosomes
RIBOSOME A cell structure that makes proteins
CHLOROPLASTS A cell structure found in plant cells that contains chlorophyll; where photosynthesis takes place
MITOSIS The stage of the cell cycle during which the cell divides into two identical cells
