What is the function of the small intestine? To absorb nutrience
What is the function of the large intestine? To absorb water
What is the function of the bladder? To hold liquid waste
What is an example of physical change in the Digestive System? Chewing food
What is Mecanical Digestion? physiclly breaking down food into smaller pieces
What is Chemical Digestion ? Breaking large molocules of food down into small molecules
What is the major function of the saliva in your mouth? breaks down food
Whats the energy transfer that takes place in your stomach? Mechanical-->Chemical-->Thermal
Why is it important that heat is released to the body in digestion? So you don't over heat
List the pathway that the food touches as it goes through digestion? Mouth, Asophoges, Stomach, Large Intestine, Small Intesting, Rectum, Anus
What does starch become into? Sugars
What does the Gallbladder store? Bile
What is chyme? A thick liquid that is broken down small enough for nutruience

What is the major function of the Digestive System? Breaks larger molocules into smaller molecules

What type of change occurs in the mouth during digestion? Chemical and Physical
How does the stomach use Mechanical digestion? When churning food
What is the major function for the Excretory System? To filter the blood and get rid of liquid waste
What are the 3 atoms found in Carbohydrates? Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen
How does the dygestive system and the Excretory Sytem work together? The Dygestive System gets rid of the solid waste and gives nutrience to the cells. the Excretory System gets rid of the liquid waste and filters the blood. The systems depend on each other.
