what is anatomy? the study of a body or organisms gross structures.
what is physiology? is the science and study of the functions of vital processes mechanisms and functions of an organ or system of organs
what is kinesiology? the scientific study of muscular activity and the anatomy physiology and mechanics of movement.
what is histology? is the form of microscopic anatomy.
what is pathology? is the study of the structral and function changes caused by disease.
why is anatomy and physiology important to massage? therapeutic massage directly affects the structure and function of the body, understanding the relation between structure and function increases the ability to improve function through specific touch.
what is homeostasis and disease? is the balance achieved in the body's internal environment. external stresses placed on the body move the body out of balance which can lead to disease.
what are signs and symptoms of disease? signs are scientifically observable indications of a diseased state symptoms are manifestations of the diseased state perceived by the victim of the condition.
some signs of disease are ? fever, abnormal heart rate or skin color sweating swelling etc.
what is stress? is an psychological or physical situation or condition that causes tension or strain on the body.
true or false ? stressors can be positive or negative? true
what do stressors do? the move the body away from homeostasis.
what are some examples of positive stressors? marriage, new job, moving to a new house etc.
what are some examples of negative stressors? OVER bearing boss, death in the family, divorce, injury, medical condition etc.
