Science

QuestionAnswer
Science knowledge about or study of the natural world based on facts learned through experiments and observations.
Observing the act or instance of noticing or perceiving.
Inferring to guess, speculate, surmise.
to foretell the future, a wild guess.
Chemistry chemical properties, reactions.
Physics any medicine, a drug or medicament.
Scientific inquiry knowledge and understanding of scientific ideas, as well of understanding the natural world.
Hypothesis a mere assumption of a guess.
Parameter a numerical characteristic of a population, as distinct from a statistic of an example.
Manipulated variable you can change the variable that will increase or decrease.
Controlled experiment a test where the person is conducting the test.
Data facts and statistics collected together for reference or analysis.
Communicating sharing or exchange information of news, or ideas.
Model a system or thing used as in the example.
Scientific theory a well-substantiated explanation of the natural world.
Scientific law a statement based on repeated experimental observations that describe some aspects of the universe.
Graph a diagram showing the relation between variable quantities.
Horizontal axis A coordinate system along which the x-coordinate is measured.
Vertical axis The axis, usually vertical, along which the ordinate is measured and from which the abscissa is measured.
Origin the point or place where something begins or is derived.
Coordinate a grid that has two perpendicular lines, or axes,labeled like numbers.
Line of best fit a straight line drawn through the center of a group data points plotted on a scattered plot.
Linear graph Linear graphs can be sketched or plotted.
Slope a surface on which one end or side is at a higher level than another.
Nonlinear graph A nonlinear graph is a graph depicted, is not a straight line.
Qualitative data Anything that can be expressed as a number.
Quantitative data expressing a certain amount,quality, or range.
