Space

QuestionAnswer
Solar System Consist of the sun, planets their moons, metors, astroid, and coments.
Milky Way Galaxy The galaxy in which our solar system is located.
Gravity The force that pulls two objects together ; it plls us toward Earth and it keeps the planet in motion.
Astronomy The study of the moons, stars, and other objects in space
Axis An imaganry line that passes though Earth's center and the north and south poles about which Earth rotates.
Rotation The spinning motion of a planet about its axis.
Revolution
Orbit The path of an object as it revols around another object (planets revolve around the sun moons revole around their planets.
Tides The daily rise and fall of Earth's water on shores.
Satellite Any object that revols around another object
Phase One of the different shapes of the moon as seen from Earh.
Crater A round pit on the moons surface.
Maria Dark, flat regions on the moons surface
Core The central part of the sun where nuclear fussion
Coment (Dirty snowball) A ball of ice and dust whose orbit is usally a long, narrow ellipse it has a glowing tail up to 100 million miles long.
Asteroids Object revoling around the sun that are too small and too numberous to be consciderd a planet.
Asteroid Belt The reigon of the solar system between the orbits of mars and jupiter where many astroides are found.
Meteoroid A chunk of rock or dust in space.
Meteorite A metoriod that hit Earth's surface.
Space Station A man made laboratory orbiting the Earth.
