Who were the main thinkers of the ENLIGHTENMENT | The most influential Enlightenment thinkers were Thomas Hobbes, John Locke, Voltaire, Baron de Montesquieu, and Jean Jacques Rousseau. Thomas Hobbes based his theories on government on his belief that man was basically greedy, selfish, and cruel. |
WHAT WAS THOMAS HOBBES IDEAL IN THE ENLIGHTENEMNT | Believed a King should rule and enter into social contact with the people. If the King failed to meet the needs of the people, the people had the right to remove him from power. |
