What is the Water Cycle

QuestionAnswer
water vapor Water in the form of an invisible gas.
humidity The amount of water vapor in the air.
solid Particles are packed together.
liquid Particles are arranged more loosely.
gas Particles are farther apart than they are in solid or liquid state.
In what state does water particles not move around much? Solid
In what state can water particles slide past each other? Liquid
In what state does water particles move around freely? Gas
Name the states of water. Solid, gas and liquid.
evaporate To change from liquid to a gas.
condense To change from a gas to a liquid.
precipitation Any form of water that falls to the earth from a cloud.
runoff Water that falls onto land and drains off the surface.
What are the steps in the water cycle? Evaporation, condensation, precipitation, groundwater flow, runoff.
Raindrops are watet in what form? Liquid
Icicles are water in what form? Solid
When water is a gas, it's called? water vapor
How does air feel with a lot of water vapor? damp
What affects how particles of matter are held together and how they move? energy
How do particles move at lower temperatures? more slowly
How do particles move at higher temperatures? more quickly
