RV residual volume the air that remains in the lungs after the most forceful expiration
medullary rhythmicity center function controls the basic rhythm of breathing
dyspnea labored or difficult breathing, often associated with hypoventilation
tuberculosis highly contagious, transmitted through inhalation of droplets
COPD chronic obstructive pulmonary disorders progressive, irreversible obstruction of air flow resulting from preexisting obstructive disorders
obstructive disorders chronic bronchitis, emphysema, asthma
massage for tuberculosis contraindicated because it is an infection
massage for pneumonia contraindicated because it is an infection
massage for COPD indicated as long as client is not in acute distress, be aware client may not be able to lay supine or prone
