tidal volume | amount of air breathed in & out with each breath |
RV residual volume | the air that remains in the lungs after the most forceful expiration |
medullary rhythmicity center function | controls the basic rhythm of breathing |
dyspnea | labored or difficult breathing, often associated with hypoventilation |
tuberculosis | highly contagious, transmitted through inhalation of droplets |
COPD chronic obstructive pulmonary disorders | progressive, irreversible obstruction of air flow resulting from preexisting obstructive disorders |
obstructive disorders | chronic bronchitis, emphysema, asthma |
massage for tuberculosis | contraindicated because it is an infection |
