Gen Science

TermDefinition
Digestive System Is one of the body's major organ systems.
Esophagus Is a muscular tube that pushes food toward the stomach.
Stomach Is a muscular organ that mixes and stores food and turns it into a soupy mix
Small Intestine The long coiled organ where most digestion takes place.
Blood Carries the nutrients and oxygen to every cell in the body.
Large Intestine The organ where where water and minerals from from food are removed and absorbed into the blood.
Respiratory System A group of organs that work together to take air into the body and push it back out.
Circulatory System Is to transport oxygen, nutrients, water, and wastes.
Heart Is a muscular pump that pushes the blood through the highways.
Artery Is a blood vessel that carries blood away from the heart to capillaries.
Capillary Is a tiny blood vessel that connects arteries and veins.
Vein Carries blood back to the heart.
Skeleton Sysem Is the system that gives the body shape and support, protects the organs, inside the body, and works with the muscles.
Muscular System Is made of muscle, tissue that makes body parts move.
