Why was the French and Indian War(or Seven Year's War) fought? England vs. France 1756-63. Fought over land, Appalacian mountains,Ohio valley because of future plans. Birtish defeat the French.
What impact did the French and Indian War have on America's future independence? In 1753, the colonists were not looking for independence. War debt.
How did King George III raise money or want to save money? Proclomation of 1763-Colonists could not pass line or interact with the indians.He didnt want soldiers to stop the conflict.Sugar Act-Taxed all imported sugar w/i british empire.Stamp Act-Raised taxes on stamps,an everyday item.
Sons of Liberty Samuel Adams formed local groups to organize opposition against Stamp Act. Act is taken away.
The Boston Massacre All the conflict over taxation eventually exploded into violence. Most likely began when a crowd of towns people invaded a British sentry.
Boston Tea Party Parliament saved East India company in 1773 when it was failing by using the Tea Act. Sons of Liberty dumped all tea into harbor because they still had to pay for it to be imported.
Committees of Correspondense Colonists thought they brought troubles among themselves. A group formed to change their attitudes,and "state the rights of the colonists". People assembled more groups.
Continental Congress Met it summer 1774. Decided to stop all trade with Britian. Becoming more unified. George heard weapons were stored in Lexington, and attacked them w/ British.
Describe the steps the Second Continental Congress took to prepare for war with Britian. They met again.Organized an army of 20,000 men.Tried to resolve crisis with Britian-they sent king a petition,blaming parliament for all problems, and asked for help in solving them.
Who was Thomas Paine and how did he help to unify the colonies? Wrote "common sense".He became involved with the colonists fight for independence. His arguments had effected and pursuaded many Americans to join the cause.

Recognized America's independence. Mississippi was western border.Britian was to get out as quick as possible.
