Bloom's Snack Pack

A brief look at Bloom's levels of understanding.

QuestionAnswer
How many levels are there in Bloom's Taxonomy? Six
Describe the "Evaluation" level. Create and defend personal judgments about information. Display validity of ideas based on a set of criteria.
Describe the "Knowledge" level. Accurately display learned material or information with basic facts and/or concepts.
Describe the "Synthesis" level. Placing parts together to create a whole. Compile information together in a different way that offers multiple or alternative solutions.
Describe the "Comprehension" level. Demonstrate understanding of facts, ideas and/or information.
Describe the "Analysis" level. Examine and/or break information into parts to make inferences that are tested through hypothetical analysis.
Describe the "Application" level. Accurate use of new knowledge that demonstrates factual understanding.

Why was Bloom's updated? To reflect the change in learners in the 21st Century.
What are the new levels of Bloom's in order? Remembering; Understanding; Applying; Analyzing; Evaluating; Creating
How do they differ? They are focused more on "Understanding" as a whole as opposed to the simple "possession" of knowledge.
