Folk culture | Traditionally practiced in small, homogeneous, rural groups that are relatively isolated from other groups. The origins are generally untraceable, and it is passed down via oral tradition. |
Habit | A repetitive act performed by a particular individual |
Popular culture | Found in large, heterogeneous societies that share certain habits despite different personal characteristics. Often developed by a specific individual for monetary gain. |
Taboo | A restriction on behavior imposed by social custom |
Terroir | The contribution of a location's physical features to the way its food tastes |
