Soluble able to dissolve in a certain solvent
Insoluble unable to dissolve in a certain solvent
Concentrated solution a large mass of dissolved solute for a certain quantity of solvent
Dilute solution a small mass of dissolved solute in a certain quantity of solvent
Concentration the quantity of solute that is dissolved in a certain quantity of solvent
Saturated solution when no more solute will dissolve in a certain amount of solvent
Unsaturated solution when more solute is able to dissolve in a certain amount of solvent
Solubility the mass of solute that can dissolve in a certain volume or mass of solvent at a certain temperature
Rate of dissolving when you measure how fast a solute dissolves in a solvent
Acid a compound that dissolves in water to form a solution that has a pH lower than 7
Base a compound that dissolves in water to form a solution that has a pH higher than 7
Indicator a compound that turns one colour in an acid and another in a base
pH scale a scale used to determine the acidity of a solution
Neutral a substance that has a pH of 7
Crystallization the process of evaporating the solvent from a solution leaving the solute behind in crystal form
Distillation a process used to separate and collect the components of a solution
