END UP what you actually did despite earlier intentions We‟d planned to eat out but we ended up walking around town all evening looking for a decent restaurant
STOP OUT to stay out all night “What time did Peter come home?” “He didn‟t. He stopped out all night.”
START ON to begin a job / task We‟ve got so much housework to do. You can start on the washing while I clean the bath.
START BACK to begin your return journey home Oh, look at the time. I‟d better start back, it‟s getting late.
