ORGANIZATION all organisms exhibit a complex structure and order
METABOLISM the sum of all the chemical reactions that occur within the body.
ANABOLISM small molecules are joined to form larger molecules.
CATABOLISM large molecules are broken down into smaller molecules.
GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT organisms assimilate materials from their environment and exhibit increased size and specialization in regards to form and function.
RESPONSIVENESS all organisms exhibit the ability to sense an react to stimuli.
REGULATION an organism must be able to adjust or direct internal bodily function in the face of environmental changes.
REPRODUCTION all organisms produce cells for growth, maintenance, and repair.
