Floor Hockey

This is a floor hockey study guide for the 6th grade gym unit "floor hockey."

What type of sport is floor hockey? A team sport.
What qualities should a team have in order to successfully play floor hockey? Cooperation, communication, and strategy.
What eye-wear must be worn during play? Goggles, glasses, or both of them.
Which part of your body must the blade of a stick be below? Your waist.
The _______ is the area in front of the goal in which only the goalie is allowed. The crease.
What is the job of the offense? They must cross over the center line and stay there. Their main responsibility is to score on the opponent’s goal.
What is the job of the defense? They may go up to the center line but may not cross over. Their main responsibility is to keep the ball away from the goal.
What is the job of the rover? They may go anywhere except the crease. Their main responsibility is to help transition the ball from their defense to their offense.
The ball may touch your feet, but you cannot use them to do what? Score.
You may use your hand to catch the ball if it travels above the waist. However, what must you do to it once it does so? What can't you do with it? You must immediately drop it and continue play. You cannot throw the ball into the goal.
What must you do in order to achieve more accuracy in your shot? You must separate your hands on the shaft of the stick.
