Motor Fitness
Factor | Definition |
---|---|
Accuracy | Ability to focus on a given goal or target. Developed through prolonged practice. |
Speed | Basic to all movement. Rate at which a given task or movement is accomplished. Speed can be used in strength training to promote explosive muscle power. |
Balance | Needed in varying degrees for all sports. Can be developed through practice of certain movements which are specific & depend on the action & position of limbs. May vary due to presence of disability, supports or props may be necessary. |
Agility & Motor coordination | Combination of speed & accuracy. Developed through repetitive practice of changing direction. Coordination of nervous & muscular system. Developed indirectly through weight training. Improves with increased strength & conditioning. |
