QuestionAnswer
What is a quality of a dominant allele? Overpowers and mask the other allele.
What is an allele? The different forms of a gene.
What does the term hybrid mean? An organism has two different forms of an allele.
What is a quality of a recessive allele? It is masked by another allele.
What is a genotype? The genetic makeup of a particular organism.
What does homozygous mean? There are two of the same alleles for a particular organism.
What is a phenotype? The physical appearance of an organism.
What is an example of a purebred alleles? GG
What is a characteristic of a heterozygous organism? Two different alleles for a particular trait.
What is a gene? The chemical factors that determine traits.
What is a chromosome? Gene-carrying structure found in the nucleus of cells and most visible during mitosis.

Two aliens (one with straight antenna and one with curly antenna) have many, many offspring, and every single one of the offspring has straight antenna. What is true? Straight antenna are dominant, and curly antenna are recessive.
Which is trait may be inherited? Pierced ears, dyed-pink hair, or brown eyes? brown eyes
